The struggle between the army and the civilians has blown out of control. The US is supporting the civilians and I think this is just the beginning of the conflict. The US wants Pak army to be more active in FATA and all the pressure is to that end.

There was no need to rush for Durrani to accept Ajmal's nationality publicly but he did it to show Pakistan commitment before Joe Biden arrives in Pakistan.
The reality is that actors in Pakistan wait for the cue form the US and then rush to comply with the instruction.
My gut feeling is that if Joe Biden is unable to get some commitment from the Pak army, Zardari would be sent packing right around Obama's inauguration.

What a coup! Gen. Durrani is our own "Count Von Stauffenberg'. My respect for the man increases manifold. If he did in Zia, he probably did the nation a favour. Pity he couldn't do it earlier.
As for Gilani, the man probably can't tell his arse from his elbow without help, so less said about him the better.

Well, MR. Durrani is conflicted person inpakistans history since 1988 when he was the core commander of Bahawalpur and on his instigation the president of that time came to Bahawalpur and his role is questionable starts from that time, but i do not know what was the factor that the Chief of teh army Staff after Zia's Death and Onward COAS not takes serious steps why thenot probe into the matter and his second contoroversial role is in Afghan Attack by US Forces Whwn he was ISI chief and at the both time was busy with US diplomats+Army and Mullah Omer and he quoted wrongly to Musharaf about Collons Powell statement about Pakistan about throwing the Country into Stones Age,and what are thereasons that The present Govermnet has assigned him National security Advisor when his past role is not clear and its questionable?
