Musharraf is a master tactician. His fondness for bridge has helped him call the perfect blufs. Umpteen times in the past he has appeared to be down and out and has managed to survive. This time too, his conspicuous silence reeks of some plan he hasn't told even his political allies. Impeachment isnt easy, will run into legal and constitutional complexities and Asif and Nawaz both know it (that's why Nawaz had a sullen facial expression during the joint presser). Their game plan succeeds only if Musharraf loses his nerve and resigns before the impeachment process starts. Otherwise, as Aitzaz has already pointed out, this whole (possibly to be botched) campaign will just result in Musharraf's clinging on to power just a little bit longer!

There is nothing more gratifying to see a military journail(retired be so) being tried. Why not. Had it happen before we would not be standing here today. One after another our Army had not allowed the system (judiciary, civilian government) to touch Ayub, Yahya, Tikka, Zia (though murdered) and many others. We have a golden opportunity to set a precedence now, so no crook journail will rise up again to suspend the constitution, judiciay, parliment again.

I am saying it while knowing both Zardari and Nawz are corrupt, but at least they have elections to face when they go wrong.
