Who is Maulvi Iqbal Haider?

Today, Maulvi Iqbal Haider submitted a petition to the Islamabad High Court (established by Pervez Musharraf in a decree on December 14, 2007) preemptively contesting the restoration of the deposed judges via parliament.

It’s worth noting that he’s the head of a tiny party, the Awami Himayat Tehreek, formerly named the Pervez Musharraf Himayat Tehreek (Movement for the Support of Pervez Musharraf).

Pervez Musharraf was much better than the civilian dictators we have now. He had clear policy objectives and strove to achieve them with decisive leadership. His government witnessed unprecedented economic growth, doubling the size of Pakistans economy and reducing the poverty rate by 10% in real terms. Contrast this with the civilian ‘democrats’ we have now who lack the vision and the will to make wise decisions. They have no clear economic, social, or foreign policy objectives that will help the nation stand up on its own two feet. I don’t care about who Maulvi Iqbal Haider is. Chamche are chamche and all important people have them. But refrain from calling Musharraf a ‘dictator’ because Nawaz Sharif was one, and Zardari is now too. It seems like its the fate of Pakistan not to distinguish between dictator and democrat, only between good dictator and bad dictator.
