Benazir and Nawaz Meet: No Final Decision on Boycott; “Charter of Demands” to Be Submitted to Musharraf
In a joint press conference held earlier this hour, Benazir Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif announced they will form an eight-member committee to issue a “Charter of Demands” to Pervez Musharraf that they claim, if implemented, would ensure free and fair elections. Should those demands not be met by a certain date, the two will actively consider boycotting the elections as, in their view, the present conditions strongly indicate the polls will be rigged.
The press conference came after a three and a half hour meeting between long-time foes Bhutto and Sharif. The two politicians battled one another during the 90s, patched relations in recent years by agreeing to a Charter of Democracy, which Bhutto later reneged upon. The latest charter brings the two toward a middle ground, with Bhutto inching closer to a boycott and Sharif to participation.
Noticeably absent from the press conference is Imran Khan, on whose side Nawaz Sharif sat by Friday declaring that his party won’t participate in the elections. Sitting by Sharif today, instead, was Mehmood Khan Achakzai, a Pashtun nationalist leader.
Nawaz’s election papers were rejected today by the country’s election commission on account of his convictions in 2000. This was not a shock, though the earlier rejection of the papers of his brother, Shahbaz, was mildly surprising. However, their ban from running does not preclude their electoral involvement. They could lead campaigning and, when a new assembly comes into power next year, return to parliament in by-elections — like Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Purpose of forming the committee is to prolong the matter, in the end (What I feel/believe), BB will take part in election. APDM will boycott the election except Mulana. PPP will not add the demand restoration of judicially!!, in “Charter of Democracy”.
I hope Nawaz Sharif is not going to be tricked by that cunning lady.Hmmm I have to read abt the credibility of imminent elections and I wd like to share it at:

Well well well,its too much from Genius Musharaf,He thinks that whole public in Pakistan is stupid and dummy.He is playing around the country at the back of US and his Military.All what he did in last 8 years was just for his own sake and for the sake of US .All changes made to so called Constitution,was just to keep himself in power with the help of conscious less members of cabinet.
Recently he imposed Emergency in the country,giving reasons of terrorism and unstable situation in country..Good……just in few days all is set again.According to Musharaf in his last speach,he said,,,every thing is under control now,,,Strange?????? Isn’t it????..Nothing was done in that regard..just few political leaders and some lawyers were arrested..During the emergency bomb blasts were there,swat sate issue was self created,and so on….
All what he did was,just to step himself in as President for next 5 years.Now matter is that..If he imposed emergency and disabled constitution,,then under which constitution he took oath of president.He playe dthis fullish game just to impos himself…
Reason to write this blog is that,,enough is enough,,,people of Pakistan must think and react.All political parties are running after ministries and to grab the wealth of poor people.Example is Benazir,,,again she is after Pakistan’s public..she has been known from her last two terms,she did everything to destroy the country.Nawaz sharif is back,,again same story..Altaf Hussain a community leader is to divide the country……all came under US deal to cheat the people of country…….

Nawaz Sharif is a simple innocent guy (in terms of politics).where as Benazir is a crook cheat and rude lady.She is just greedy to get back into Govt. by any means,so she got back as a result to deal with Musharaf.She is playing the dirty game with whole opposition,not only Nawaz.results will be soon up on the sky…she will take part in elections at any cost.i am sure about it.So advice to Nawaz is to go back to his business and have a peaceful life
