Hello,

So far we have carried out two successful rallies. Our rally today was shutdown prematurely due to the fact that BEFORE we even started, (mind you it was a peaceful SILENT rally), police rangers were sent to our campus. They first investigated inside before 12.30pm. The rally was scheduled for 1pm. After that, they stood guard at our gates and we were not even allowed to stand in front of our own gates. They warned us that if they saw us right inside the main gate, they would baton charge and tear gas us. Therefore, we had to restrict our rally to other areas of the campus.

All details, first person accounts, as well as photos, videos and press releases are being posted at the following blog:

www.pakistanmartiallaw.blogspot.com

This is a blog run by the students of LUMS who are actively taking part in this protest.

We appreciate all the support and publicity you can get us as we want the world to know what we are up against.

Our fellow students in other universities were actually baton charged, arrested, and tear gas-sed today. FAST - a leading IT institute was held under a seige and is being shut down.

For any questions, you can email the students directly involved in the polical process at:

Best,

The students of Pakistan.
